  • Which Type of Casino Player Are You?

The experience of playing in the casino varies for different people. While your bankroll may determine which games you are likely to play, your character also factors in. Knowing which type of player you are could help you make the correct decisions and adjust to different situations.

Risk defines all of the games in a casino. And a player's tolerance to risk is often what characterizes their gambling actions: from the choice of game to the betting style. Being trapped in a single characteristic is not at all good, since certain situations call for different actions.

Here are the three common types of casino players, according to their tolerance to risk.

    1. The High Roller

The high roller is the kind of player who treats money as simply a way of keeping score. Most of them are there for the thrill the games bring them. Others are ferocious sharks who just love to win big. They are often seen at the high-stakes tables or big bucks machines. High rollers could have a difficult time in handling and managing their bankroll, since they are in it for the game and for the win.

If you fall under this category, make sure that you have a lot of money to spare before you go into a casino. You have a good chance of winning big, but also run the risk of losing big.

    2. The Midrange Player

Midrange players are those who are cautious enough about their money, but loves taking risks anyway. They are conscious about how much they are already spending. Thus they are the ones who play at high-stakes tables when they have enough money, and if not, they play at budget games.

    3. The Conservative

Conservative players are those who are most comfortable playing at budget games even if they have a lot of cash. They do enjoy playing, but are more conscious about how much they are spending for this type of entertainment. Conservative players are often seen at budget tables and nickel machines. Since they avoid the high-stakes tables, they have a small chance of winning a huge amount.

If you fall under this category, you might want to try to increase the stakes little by little. If you play at $5 blackjack tables, you might want to try the $25 tables next. Consider it, because the more risk you take, the greater the possible rewards.

Just remember, these descriptions are fluid, meaning each characteristic is not exclusive to a certain type. By knowing which type of player best describes you, you could be prepared to make the possible adjustments whenever an unexpected situation arises. And hopefully, whatever type you fall under, you walk out of the casino as a winner.
